Casting Class

From the healing cleric to the fireball throwing warlock, casters come in many forms. In the Taer using the mystical energy of the universe is the hardest path to find and follow. But anyone can wield a sword, and it merely takes practice to pick a lock. A Caster has something innate in their soul to be able to toss mystic energy around like a rock. Where this power comes from should be part of your character’s background. Did they make a pact with a nefarious spirit? Were they favored by a power? Did they study long lost and forbidden magic? Are they a scion of some magic wielding line?

Magical Mishaps

After the Cataclysm magic became more unpredictable in the Taer. Outsider forces began to take notice of the magically powerful. It started with small demons known as the Kvatch, who began appearing after simple spells. Over time more powerful outsiders have become summoned by magic wielding casters. Every time a spell is cast whether it succeeds or not if the Dragon Die comes up a 1 then a 1d6 must be rolled on the mishap table below.

Mishaps

  1. Nothing happens
  2. Lose 3 extra stamina
  3. 1 Kvatch appears
  4. Lose all stamina
  5. 1d6 Kvatches appear
  6. 1 Shade of the Outer Plains appears
